The Belfast Agreement now has overwhelming support, close to the 70 per cent benchmark set by the Ulster Unionist Party leader, Mr Trimble, a latest opinion poll has shown.
In the South, 71 per cent of people are in favour of the deal, with 6 per cent against and 23 per cent undecided, according to an Irish Independent opinion poll published today.
In the North, 50 per cent are in favour, with 23 per cent against and 24 per cent undecided.
