Nazi concentration camp survivors are suing Yahoo and accusing the firm of justifying Nazi crimes.
Mr Charles Korman, the lawyer for the survivors, said Yahoo had promoted Nazi war crimes and crimes against humanity by selling Nazi relics on its auction site.
The former victims only want a symbolic compensation of one French franc, but also want Yahoo to pay for newspaper announcements about the case after it comes to court.
Yahoo introduced a filter system several weeks ago to stop the auctioning of Nazi relics after it was put under pressure by a French court.
The court ruled in November that Yahoo had three months to prevent French internet users from accessing the sites featuring the memorabilia.
The company announced in January that it was preventing the sale of Nazi relics on its sites. But it is also taking court action in the United States to lift the French ban.
