Washington - The United States has reversed its position on North Korea's claim to have launched a satellite, saying Pyongyang's August 31st missile test tried but failed to put a satellite in orbit.
"North Korea did attempt to orbit a small satellite but the satellite failed to achieve its orbit," the State Department spokesman, Mr James Rubin, said. The effort "demonstrated Pyongyang's capacity to increase the range of its missiles and the capacity to threaten its neighbours," he said.
