Kampala - President Yoweri Museveni took a strong lead yesterday in Uganda's presidential race, but his main opponent complained of "pervasive malpractice".
With results in from less than a tenth of the 214 constituencies, Mr Museveni had 76 per cent of the vote, while his challenger, Mr Kizza Besigye, trailed with 18.8 per cent, according to a Reuters tally of results.
