London - Mr Rupert Murdoch, the chairman and chief executive of News Corporation, has become a father for the fifth time after his wife, Ms Wendi Deng, gave birth to a baby daughter, it was announced yesterday.
The child was born in a New York hospital last night and both mother and daughter were said to be doing well.
The couple have named the baby Grace Helen and Mr Murdoch's spokesman said they were both "absolutely delighted" at the birth. Mr Murdoch was with his wife throughout the birth.
The media tycoon has four other children from his previous marriage, Prudence (38), Elisabeth (33), Lachlan (30), and James (28).
