AUSTRALIAN detectives believe a woman found murdered in Adelaide at the weekend was not an Irish tourist, Brian Donaghy writes from Adelaide.

"It is most unlikely that it is anyone from overseas at all," a police spokesman said yesterday. The woman's teeth will be compared later today with dental records of two missing Australian women. There had been speculation that the woman was Irish because she wore leggings sold only through Dunnes Stores. She was also wearing a white T-shirt embroidered with the word "Noosa", an up-market Queensland resort about loo km north of Brisbane on Australia's east coast and a pair of expensive Reebok sneakers.

Police believe she was killed early last week, about five days before the body was discovered. They say she was aged in her late 20s or early 30s and was of average build with short, dark brown hair.
