Police in Belfast began a murder inquiry tonight after a teenager fell from a ninth storey apartment in the city centre.
James Murray (19), from Glendowan Grove, in the Lagmore area, was found dead outside the building in King Street just before 6am yesterday.
A man (26) and woman (22) were arrested in the wake of the discovery after police deemed the incident suspicious.
Police officers officially began a murder inquiry tonight.
The pair remain in custody and police applied to the courts to extend their detention.
Meanwhile, two men have been arrested after a man’s body was discovered in a house in Co Tyrone.
The dead man, who was aged 29, was found at a property in the Tullywiggan area of Cookstown shortly after 11am yesterday. The two suspects are both aged in their 20s.
Police have released no other details about the circumstances of the death or the identity of the deceased.
This morning, the PSNI released two people held in relation to the death of a man in west Belfast.
The dead man, who was aged in his early 20s, was found in a property in Aitnamona Crescent, at about 10pm on Friday night. A man and a woman, also aged in their 20s, were questioned, but were released unconditionally last night.
Police said they were no longer treating the death as suspicious.
