A Co Down schoolboy accused of stabbing to death a man alleged to have assaulted his mother was freed on bail yesterday.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with murdering Mr George McClune (27), at Conlig, Co Down, on November 18th.
Crown lawyer David Hopley told the High Court in Belfast the fatal stabbing occurred during a party on the estate where the defendant lived. It was after Mr McClune allegedly struck the defendant's mother that the defendant went home and reappeared with two knives.
Mr Justice Coghlin granted bail but ordered the defendant to reside with relatives at a secret address.
