Motherwell have confirmed the contract for striker David Kelly has been terminated by mutual consent.
The former Republic of Ireland international was involved in an alleged bust-up with manager Eric Black and his assistant Terry Butcher after the Scottish Cup defeat at Dunfermline.
"A compromise agreement has resulted from a meeting held today prior to the convening of a disciplinary hearing," a club statement read.
"Mr David Kelly's contract as a player with Motherwell Football Club has been terminated by mutual consent".
The 36-year-old joined the Steelmen in the summer on a one-year contract after a career with Walsall, West Ham, Leicester, Newcastle, Wolves, Sunderland, Tranmere and Sheffield United.
The veteran forward rejected a coaching post at Bramall Lane to continue his playing career in Scotland.
