An Israeli woman has been charged with taking her children out of Ireland without the consent of her husband.
Mrs Jacqueline Howard (28) of Noriet, Nazarath Illit, Israel, appeared in Swords District Court yesterday charged with taking her two sons, Nathan (7) and Steven (4), out of the State last October without the consent of her husband, Mr Richard Howard.
She has been in custody since last Thursday when she returned to Ireland, Sgt Joseph Kelly told the court. The children were in the care of her brother.
Judge Sean Delap heard that though there had been Family Law proceedings before Balbriggan court last year, there were no court orders in respect of the children.
Mrs Howard said she had returned to Ireland to make an agreement with her husband.
Judge Delap heard the DPP wanted a jury trial. He remanded Mrs Howard to January 7th, on £2,500 independent bail, and on the condition she live in Ashfield Grove, Drogheda.
