Most Britons expect to be shopping in euros within a decade.
A new poll has found 62 per cent of people think Britain will be in monetary union after ten years. Only 14 per cent of those quizzed in the Guardianpoll thought Britain would be outside the euro.
But 19 per cent also expect the euro to fail, with member-states reverting to their own currencies.
Over half of the 1,000 adults interviewed by ICM also said they would vote 'no' in a referendum on euro entry. Only 31 per cent say they would vote to join.
