The Moriarty tribunal will return to the "less than adequate response" by Irish Nationwide Building Society to provide information on their offshore subsidiary in the Isle of Man, Mr Justice Moriarty has said.
Before the tribunal finished yesterday, he said he wanted to return to the issue when the tribunal sat again. Irish Nationwide Building Society has refused to allow officials from their Isle of Man company to give evidence or to assist the tribunal.
Mr Michael Lowry TD held an account with the company on the Isle of Man and had given the tribunal permission to examine the account.
Last week the tribunal heard £147,000 was lodged into Mr Lowry's Isle of Man account in 1996. The money came from a bank draft, bought by the late Mr David Austin. Mr Austin had bought the bank draft using money from the sale of property bought by Mr Denis O'Brien.
