Bonn - More heads rolled in outgoing Chancellor Helmut Kohl's Christian Democratic Union (CDU) yesterday as the party struggled to digest its record defeat in Germany's election.
Mr Peter Hintze, mastermind of Dr Kohl's confused retro-style campaign, announced he would step down as general secretary, the party's top organisational post.
The outgoing Labour Minister, Mr Norbert Blum, is quitting as head of North Rhine-Westphalia state CDU.
