ANY 40 plus man in the throes of a mid life crisis and feeling that his career options are limited can take heart at this week's turn of events in the life of New York based Dubliner Pearse O'Byrne.
Ballyfermot born Pearse works in construction in Manhattan and has recently taken up writing and acting when he gets the time.
At the end of last week he was spotted in a cafe by star photographer and supermodel maker Richard Avedon, who asked him if he would be interested in trying out as a model.
It appears that Richard (or Dick as he's now chummily known to Pearse) is casting for a new Calvin Klein ad, so he booked Pearse for a try out session. News of Avedon's interest in the 40 year old Dubliner spread, and on the strength of it, this week Pearse did two fashion shoots, one for hyper cool Interview magazine, the other for Italian Vogue.
Tall, blue eyed and grey haired, Pearse, who had never even remotely considered modelling before, is now nervously waiting to see it the Calvin Klein job comes through and it so plans to fulfil his dream of buying a little house somewhere in Ireland.
