THE Irish jockey and former Derby winner, Mr Ray Cochrane, who went missing from his home in Cambridgeshire on November 16th, has contacted British police to say he is "alive and well", Rachel Donnelly writes from London. But in a short telephone conversation yesterday morning, he failed to indicate his whereabouts.
Mr Cochrane, who was reported missing by his wife, Anne, when he failed to return home from work in Cambridgeshire, telephoned the police to confirm he was alive but he did not add to his statement.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said they were satisfied the telephone call had been made by Mr Cochrane. However, he added that the missing persons file opened on Mr Cochrane would not be closed until a positive sighting had been made. He appealed to the jockey to contact the police again.
