Atlantic City - The Miss America organisation has plans to evacuate its 51 national contestants from Atlantic City this week, if Hurricane Floyd begins to pose a danger to the East Coast gambling capital, officials said on Wednesday.
"Should the hurricane become imminent, arrangements have been made to move the contestants, travelling companions and everything else," said a spokesperson.
The storm's most likely casualty would be the annual Miss America Parade along the city's boardwalk, scheduled for this evening.
