Rome - Italian ministers held an emergency meeting to discuss the Mafia yesterday as the victims of the country's worst mob massacre in eight years were buried.
Police earlier seized 12 Mafia suspects in southern Sicily, a short distance from the town of Ragusa where five men were shot dead on Saturday as they drank coffee in a bar.
Officials said the arrests were on suspicion of extortion and Mafia association, not directly related to the killings, and the hunt for the gunmen continued.
