FIANNA Fail's by election candidate in Donegal North East, Ms Cecilia Keaveney, has called for the appointment of a special minister for the Border counties. This was necessary to help increase investment there and to redress the "clear neglect of Donegal by the current Government", she said.
The special minister would be charged with meeting specific targets for jobs and investment, Ms Keaveney said, adding that she did not expect the Government to act on her suggestion.
"Fianna Fail, however, does support such an appointment and a vote for Fianna Fail is a vote a strong voice for the Border counties" she said.
