Stockholm - The former Yugoslav president, Mr Slobodan Milosevic, is under "self-imposed" detention, his successor, Mr Vojislav Kostunica, said yesterday.
Mr Kostunica, in Stockholm for talks with the government, which currently has the EU Presidency, gave no further explanation of Mr Milosevic's decision or restrictions on the former president's movements.
He said he was more concerned about what would happen if the increasing expectations of his people were not met. "They want a new sort of life and better standards."
