ONCE upon a time, the only games people played on PC were flight simulators and strategic war games. But there are more PCs in homes and the PC is at the forefront of the games industry.

As a result, all the necessary peripherals have started to make their way to the high street. And anybody who has ever tried to play a soccer game on PC using the keyboard or an ungainly joy-stick will undoubtedly, be pleased. Microsoft's quality game pad, the Sidewinder, is so good it would look more at home on the likes of the Sony Play Station, to which it bears some resemblance.

It's not only aesthetically pleasing, it is also tremendously functional. The software included on the CD also enables you to easily program the buttons (there are 12 in all) for any games that run with Windows 95. And with arcade games like Sonic and Gex now available on PC the Sidewinder will make the experience all the more enjoyable.
