The Garda/Midland Health Board investigation into an alleged fraud should be completed within a month. Yesterday the board said that it had suspended a staff member who was understood to have been based in Mullingar.
The investigation, led by gardai from Athlone, involves aspects of the financial dealings between the board and a nonstatutory organisation which was part-funded by the board.
