Lazio have agreed personal terms with Valencia midfielder Gaizka Mendieta, the Serie A club announced this morning, clearing the way for a £37 million transfer.
"Gaizka Mendieta has reached an agreement with Lazio. Today the Basque midfielder will be in Rome to sign his contract with the club," Lazio's official website announced.
The Spanish international was expected to have a routine medical before signing the contract and will be presented to the Italian press on Friday at their Formello training ground outside Rome.
