Police were today tracking a gang who dragged an elderly woman onto the street after ransacking her Co Down home.
The woman in her late 70s was found in a distressed state in the Tullynasoo area of Castlewellan at around 2.25pm yesterday.
Two men had forced their way into her home and searched a room.
The woman struggled with the men who eventually dragged her onto the street. The pair escaped the scene in a black BMW 5 series car driven by a third man.
The woman suffered a hand injury and was left extremely shaken by her ordeal.
Police believe the incident may be linked to a second attack in the Ballycullen Road area of Blackwatertown, Co Armagh.
Men with strong southern accents forced their way into the home of a woman in her late 70s, demanded cash and ransacked the house.
They threatened the woman before they escaped the scene with a sum of cash in a dark coloured, southern registered car.
