Fermanagh 1-12 Meath 0-9
Meath crashed out of the football championship this afternoon following a six point qualifying series defeat to Fermanagh in Clones.
Sean Boylan's side, who were knocked out of the Leinster championship by Kildare, had been expected to beat their Ulster opponents.
Meath started brightly and led by 0-3 to 0-0 after 11 minutes - Hank Traynor, Trevor Giles and Graham Geraghty all finding their range.
But Fermanagh soon pointed themselves into contention and trailed by just two points at half-time (0-5 to 0-3).
The Ulster side, however, needed just two minutes of the second half to turn the game on its head - Raymond Gallagher fired the ball past Cormac Sullivan for the only goal of the game.
Fermanagh never relinquished that lead. Gallagher and Tom Brewster applied further pressure as the clock ticked away and with it Meath's summer.
