LONDON - The term "ME" for people with long lasting fatigue should be dropped as unhelpful and confusing, although the condition is real and common, specialists said yesterday. Experts from three British medical colleges called for an end to the heated debate about whether the illness was mental or physical saying it was both.
A report from the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of General Practitioners says that the term "chronic fatigue syndrome" (CFS) should be used for people with long lasting tiredness and other symptoms such as muscle pain.
