Building group McInerney Holdings said today it has increased its land bank in Britain through purchasing a number of sites totalling 274 plots.

The group land purchases will involve house construction in Blackburn, Oldham, Rochdale and Warrington, with apartment developments planned for Liverpool city centre and Manchester.

These add to the developments in Bolton, Chester, Warrington and Northwich. Further site acquisitions are being negotiated. They will be developed over two years and bring the McInerney’s controlled landbank to almost 800 units.

McInerney Holdings managing director Mr Barry O'Connor, said conditions in Britain are very favourable as shown by price rises of 9.4 per cent and 13.8 per cent in 2000 and 2001, respectively.
