Wayne McCullough's coach, Kenny Croom, believes that WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison is "the ideal opponent" for the "Pocket Rocket".

American Croom feels that newly crowned world champion Harrison is the one for the Belfast fighter to target.

McCullough returns to the ring on Saturday night at Belfast's Maysfield Leisure Centre, which is expected to be sold out, when he faces Russian Nicolai Eremeev.

Croom, who was at ringside in Glasgow when Harrison won the WBO title from Julio Pablo Chacon, is confident that after one more non-title fight McCullough will be ready to cut short the Scot's reign.

"I would like to see Wayne fight Harrison. There are bigger fights out there for Wayne and he can decide whether he wants to continue at featherweight or box super-bantamweight but Harrison I think is the right move," said Croom.

"We give Harrison plenty of credit, he did what he had to and did it well against an opponent who's not in the same class as Wayne McCullough.

"And when you look at the fighters Wayne has boxed and those that Harrison has fought there is a massive difference," Croom said.
