Tony McCoy broke his own record for the fastest 200 winners in a season when scoring on favourite Lord Sam in the opening race at Kempton Park today.
The champion jockey always had his mount racing prominently in the Pertemps Supporting SIA Novices' Hurdle and, kicking for home off the final bend, soon had the prize in safe keeping to record his 200th success of the campaign 16 days earlier than his previous best, which he achieved last season.
"It felt good," said McCoy.
And when asked about reaching the 300 he added: "I'd like Bold Investor and Best Mate to start it off. It'll be tough and I've just got to keep going."
