Mick McCarthy is ready to announce his final squad of 23 players which he will take to the World Cup Finals in Japan and South Korea at the end of the month.

The Republic of Ireland manager will confirm his squad at the Holiday Inn Hotel at Dublin Airport next Tuesday, May 7th at 10:30 a.m.

Those fortunate enough to be selected will also be called upon to take part in the Niall Quinn Testimonial against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday, May 14th. After that they will take on Nigeria in a friendly at Lansdowne Road two days later before the squad is due to depart for the Far East on Friday, May 17th.

McCarthy and his men are due to arrive at the Island of Saipan where they will acclimatise for a week before moving onto Izumo City, their base for the first game of the Finals against Cameroon on June 1st.

After the opening game the squad will return to Chiba City to prepare for the remaining two games against Germany in Abaraki (June 5th) and Saudi Arabia in the Yokohama Stadium (June 11th), the same venue as the final on June 30th.
