A Co Mayo hotel has won the AA Hotel of the Year Award. Mount Falcon Country House Hotel in Ballina took the top prize, while Marlfield House Hotel, Gorey, Co Wexford, won the AA Courtesy and Care Award.
The Guest Accommodation of the Year Award was won by Rosquil House, Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny.
The awards were presented by Minister for Tourism Martin Cullen at the Mansion House in Dublin yesterday. The AA inspects more than 600 hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs in Ireland every year.
Opened in 2006, Mount Falcon Country House Hotel was built in 1876 and has been extended by its owners.
