Allied Irish was trading six cents down at euro 12.94 with Bank of Ireland four cents down at euro 9.85. Irish Life and Permanent fell by 20 cents to be trading at euro 12.05.
Eircom shares were slightly ahead this lunchtime after a surge in the price of Vodafone in the UK.
Iona Tech remained unchanged at euro 61.00 despite posting record fourth quarter revenues and earnings.
Elan Corporation rose euro 1.10 to be trading at 51.60 on the back positive speculation about the US economy.
Independent News & Media has had a positive day so far trading at euro 3.07 up 7 cents.
CRH surged 50 cents to be trading at euro 19.20 by lunchtime. Other movers on the day included Viridian down 37 cents to euro 9.48, Ryanair down 5 cents to euro 10.70 and Ryan Hotels down 2 cents to euro 0.96.
