A Dublin man who "lives by fraud" was jailed for giving false information to obtain insurance and a driving licence.

A Dublin man who "lives by fraud" was jailed for giving false information to obtain insurance and a driving licence.

Noel Boles (51), of Foxrock Avenue, Foxrock, Co Dublin, was also fined £1,000 when he was convicted of trespassing in order to frighten the occupier of a house.

Judge Sean Delap heard that Mr Boles had got insurance from First Call Direct in May last year. Although unemployed, he wrote on the proposal form that he travelled 20 miles a day to his work as a salesman.

Mr Boles was also convicted of giving false information on an application for a driving licence at Chancery Street on May 15th, 1995.

The judge heard that Mr Boles had several similar convictions in the past 10 years and had held five driving licences and been disqualified nine times.

"It's a tissue of lies, I'm convinced he lives by fraud," said Judge Delap. He sentenced Mr Boles to 12 months in prison.
