A man who threw himself in front of a DART train just before rush hour yesterday was trapped under it for 10 minutes. An employee at Pearse Street station said the man jumped in front of the northbound train at about 4.30 p.m. A number of men, women and children witnessed the apparent suicide attempt.
A nurse travelling on the train attended the victim. He suffered head injuries and cuts to his back, but escaped serious injury. The driver of the train, who suffered from shock, was relieved of his duties.
