A 32-year-old man has been returned for trial next month on charges of stealing more than €180,000 following a Garda investigation into the disappearance of deposits paid by students in Cork for their school dances.
Patrick Brown, Inchirahilly, Crookstown, was back before Cork District Court yesterday on 77 charges of theft. They relate to deposits paid for debut and graduation dances by students at 26 secondary schools between September 2006 and June 2007 and the amounts involved, which range from €150 to €12,045.
