A man is critically ill after a hit-and-run incident in north Belfast this morning.
The man, believed to be in his thirties, was struck by a stolen car which mounted the footpath along Westland Road at 2.30 a.m, a spokeswoman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.
The injured man was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a critical condition. Police believe the driver of the car may also have sustained a head injury.
The car, a red Ford Orion registration RIB 9309 was recovered later at Oldpark Avenue.
