Gardai are looking for three men following a stabbing outside a house in Cork city which left a 30-year-old man seriously injured in hospital.
The man received several stab wounds during a row with another man over his girlfriend, which erupted at the woman's house in Wilton at around 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The woman's former boyfriend had confronted the 30-year-old man - her current boyfriend - inside the two-storey terraced house. The row continued on the roadway.
It is understood the former boyfriend was joined by two companions. A knife was produced and the current boyfriend was stabbed in the chest and back as he tried to flee.
The man was rushed by ambulance to nearby Cork University Hospital, where yesterday he was said to be in a "serious but stable" condition.
Gardai sealed off the scene of the stabbing overnight for forensic examination and carried out door-to-door inquiries in the quiet suburban estate.
