A man accused of threatening Dublin taxi drivers with syringes during a spate of robberies was today remanded in jail.
Thomas Joyce (27) of Dunsink Campsite, in Finglas, north Dublin, is facing nine charges over the alleged hold-ups which took place during a two-week period.
He was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning in Ratoath road, Finglas, after the attempted robbery of a man with a syringe.
The wave of attacks all around Dunsink Lane and Ratoath Road in north Dublin started on April 16th. They included the robbery of more than €600 in cash, several mobile phones and a satellite navigation system.

The accused was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill Court on May 9th.
