A man (18) has been remanded in custody charged with shooting his father on a farm in Co Wicklow.
Patrick O'Byrne appeared at Bray District Court today charged with assault causing harm to Seamus O'Byrne at Three Wells, Aughrim on September 29th.
Sgt Brendan Hobbs told the court he arrested Mr O'Byrne of Three Wells, Aughrim yesterday and charged him with assaulting Seamus O'Byrne.
He said Mr O'Byrne replied: "I understand the charge".
Judge Murrough Connellan granted the accused free legal aid and remanded him in custody until October 8th to appear at the same court. There was no application for bail.
The judge also requested a psychological and psychiatric assessment for Mr O'Byrne.
