A man was arrested today for questioning about the seizure of a major haul of republican explosives in Northern Ireland over two years ago.
The man was being quizzed about the discovery of 500lbs of home-made explosives when police stopped two cars heading for Belfast on the main A1 dual carriageway outside Hillsborough, Co Down, in March 2000.
At the time police indicated they believed they had foiled a dissident republican bomb plot.
Three men arrested at the scene, and a fourth arrested following searches in west Belfast, are currently on remand awaiting trial, each charged with possession of explosives with intent.
