A man died in a house fire this morning in Birr, Co Offaly.
The fire broke out in a house on Tullamore road shortly before 11.30 a.m. A 37-year-old man, who has not been named, was found dead in the bedroom.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious. The scene has been preserved and a post mortem will be carried out later today.
In a separate incident, Gardaí are appealing for help in identifying a man who died in a fire in Dublin.
The incident occurred yesterday evening, when the fire broke out in a caravan off Summerville Avenue, Crumlin.
The man was described as stocky, with short red to fair hair, a moustache and was approximately 5 ft 3 inches in height. He is believed to have been in his thirties and was wearing black jeans.
