A man was killed in Co Armagh yesterday when two cars crashed on the Moy road near Portadown. Two other people were injured, one of whom was described as serious but stable in Craigavon Hospital.
Gardai have named the two US women, aged 69 and 77, who were killed in a road accident in Co Mayo. Their deaths brought to four the number of people killed in three separate road accidents on Tuesday. They were Ms Anne Akehurst and Ms Jane Akehurst Pearce, from Butler, Maryland.
In Co Galway, a motorcyclist was fatally injured when his bike and a car collided at Costelloe, Rossaveel. He was Mr Padraig Burke (59) of Rossaveel.
In Dublin, Ms Mary Frazer (72) of Howth Summit was killed when the car in which she was a passenger collided with a bus at James Larkin Road in Raheny.
