A man in his 70s has been killed after his bicycle was hit by a bus in Co Meath today.
The fatal crash happened at Spiddal, Nobber, at about 2.15pm, gardai said.
"There were a number of children on the bus at the time but none of them were injured," a Garda statement said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed to Navan hospital.
Gardai have asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Nobber Garda station.
Separately, gardaí in Co Donegal are investigating a two-vehicle crash last night in which a 16-year-old male driver was killed.
The crash, involving a car and a van, occurred at Moyle, Newtowncunningham, on the N13 road at about 9pm.
The driver, who was alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the van were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
The scene of the collision was closed earlier today for a technical examination by gardaí.
