A man who became involved in a £2 million heroin operation foiled by gardai has been jailed for 6 1/2 years in consecutive sentences by Judge Elizabeth Dunne at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Philip Kerfoot (29), of Captain's Road, Crumlin, Dublin, was on bail on a smaller heroin charge when arrested outside the Sunnybank Hotel in Glasnevin on March 18th, 1999, by gardai dealing with a seven-kilo heroin operation for which two other men have been jailed.

Kerfoot pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess heroin on that occasion. He had 18 previous convictions.
