A former postman who dealt drugs to undercover gardaí has been jailed for 16 months at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Owen Fitzpatrick (22), Old County Road, Crumlin, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine for sale or supply in 2010, on January 18th at Brickfield Park, Drimnagh, on February 2nd at Mourne Road, Drimnagh, and on April 1st at Sally’s Bridge, Crumlin.
The former Terenure postman met an undercover garda in Brickfield Park and handed him a small bag of cocaine. The garda handed over €40. He made similar deals with undercover gardaí at Mourne Road and Sally’s Bridge. Judge Martin Nolan accepted Fitzpatrick was a street dealer but operated at a low level and made very little profit from his dealings.
