A man who stole almost £11,000 from a Co Kildare bank at knifepoint has been jailed for five years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Owen McDonald was identified by Insp John Farrelly from a re construction on RTE's Crimeline programme and a security video.
McDonald (27), married and a father of two, of Clondalkin, Dublin, pleaded guilty to stealing £10,640 from the Bank of Ireland, Monasterevan on November 20th, 1995.
Garda James Madden said McDonald abandoned his jacket with £70 of the stolen cash in it. Nothing more was recovered.
