A man in his twenties is being treated in hospital after being shot when a gunman opened fire on a crowded bar in Derry last night.
The 23-year-old was shot twice as up to five shots were fired through a door at the premises in Church Brae area of the city shortly before 11 p.m. The man has undergone surgery and is said to be in stable condition.
According to police as many as 30 people were in the bar at the time of the shooting.
A police spokesperson said it was an "indiscriminate attack which could easily have led to loss of life or serious injury of more than one person".
