Police in Belfast are seeking witnesses to an attack in the north of the city last night in which an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg.

The shooting happened in the Spamount Street area last night at approximately 7.50pm.

The victim was walking in the area when he was approached by a number of people and was shot in his lower right leg. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police in Antrim Road police station are investigating.
