A man who was killed when a stolen car crashed into a police Land Rover in west Belfast early today was one of six people in the Metro at the time, it has emerged.

The Metro was not being chased and hit the Land Rover head-on, said a Royal Ulster Constabulary spokeswoman.

Front-seat passenger Raymond Boyle, 21, from the Falls Road, Belfast, was killed.

The driver and four other passengers were taken to hospital, but none of their injuries were life-threatening, she said an RUC spokeswoman.
