A 21 year old man is recovering in hospital after a punishment attack in west Belfast. He was beaten with iron bars by a group of masked men who burst into his home on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the relative of a man beaten in a "punishment" attack in Lurgantarry, Co Armagh, last Friday, was targeted early yesterday. His house was extensively damaged in an arson attack. It was the second attack on his home within 24 hours. On Sunday night a group of people stoned his house.

A petrol bomb was thrown through a window of St Mary's Catholic Primary School on the Carnmoney Road, in Glengormley, on the outskirts of north Belfast, early yesterday. And slight damage was caused to St Joseph's Catholic Church in Ballygally, Co Antrim, on Saturday night when two small windows were broken and a firelighter pushed inside.
