Man hurt in Dublin shooting

Gardaí in Swords are investigating a shooting on the Naul Road at the back of Dublin airport today.

At about 1pm, a dark coloured saloon car pulled into a lay-by, and a gunman got out of the passenger side. He fired a number of shots into the driver's side of the parked car.

A male in his 40s in the car suffered arm injuries and was taken to Beaumont hospital, although his injuries described as not life threatening.

The gunman is described as being 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in tall, wearing a high visibility jacket and of normal build. According to gardaí, he was wearing a see-through face mask described as being an ice hockey type mask or visor.

Gardaí are seeking witnesses who may have travelled the road around the time of the attack. They are asked to contact Swords Garda station on 01 6664700, the Garda confidential line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

No arrests have been made, and a Garda investigation is ongoing.
